Fall Camping Trip

So I know that at Joanna's wedding we talked about a ski trip in the winter, but I just cant pass up the opportunity to be in the mountains when the leaves are changing for Fall. So, would any or all of you like to try to do just a quick, cheap, undemanding camping trip sometime within the next few months? I was just thinking a weekend thing, say sometime in October? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!
